SWATHplus-SPLASH3 incorporates a third sonar transducer into the system. The positioning of this third transducer is such that it offers a forward looking narrow profile along the centre line of the vessel axis. It saturates the seabed with sonar pings, giving very high data density in the nadir region. The forward-looking transducer is also a valuable safety feature as it gives a warning of submerged obstacles ahead. This makes it ideal for surveying previously unmapped areas, especially in shallow water.

SWATHplus-SPLASH3 has a compact, lightweight and uncomplicated design, As such, it is easy to mobilise and demobilise and can be supplied with an optional bow mounting kit for rapid and convenient deployment and recovery.  It offers a neat solution for a trailer transportable survey vessel.
