Future Dismounted Close Combat Research (FDCCR) Technology Watch
On behalf of the Research Acquisition Organisation (RAO) and Director Equipment Capability Ground Manoeuvre (DEC(GM)), SEA is undertaking the Future Dismounted Close Combat research programme aimed at informing future procurement options in the complex Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) arena. Focusing on the NATO domains of Lethality, Survivability, Mobility, C4I and Sustainability, the programme takes a systems level approach to the definition of requirements.
A significant component of the Lethality research effort is intended to inform judgement with respect to the replacement of current soldier lethality systems in the 2020 timeframe. The UK Military community will need to be thoroughly cognisant of the technical and operational drivers in discussion with allied partners, including the US and other NATO countries.
In the 2015 timeframe the research must inform FIST increments and will consider emerging technologies into the 2020 timeframe and beyond, from offensive and defensive perspectives.
Throughout the research activity two key objectives are to maintain a ‘watching brief’ for emerging DCC-related research and technology not currently known to be a part of extant research programmes and to determine ‘Quick Win’ opportunities leading to possible Urgent Operational Requirements (UORs).
In order to ensure a fully considered programme taking into account all available options for increased Soldier System capability in the DCC domain, organisations wishing to put forward for consideration concepts and products tor the MOD for the FDCC programme can register their interest with SEA by clicking here >>>
Please include contact details and as much information as possible regarding your organisation’s concept or product.
